Every July, something magical happens in the Napa Valley. The entire region shifts and changes, preparing for the incredible Festival Napa Valley and all of the events it brings. There’s music, dancing, incredible gourmet food – and yes, great wine, too. If you’re coming, we’re excited to reveal these fantastic experiences.
Yes, that’s right – Festival Napa Valley brings absolutely free music to anyone with a desire to attend. A total of 12 free concerts spanning from Wednesday, July 18, all the way to Sunday, July 29, by some of the best artists in the nation, give you plenty of options to choose from.
The music may be free, but that doesn’t mean you won’t find anything valuable when you come. See the Festival’s professional and Academy musicians in their Festival Live! Chamber Series, or enjoy Gold Medalist Yekwon Sunwoo’s Grand Cru Piano Series for the utmost in talent. Other artists include American composer John Corigliano, Russian flutist Maxim Rubtsov, Russian Renaissance, and a handful of young rising stars like Yoonah Kim and Sophia Bacelar.
Consider yourself a foodie? The Festival Napa Valley has plenty of options for you, too. Stop in at any one of our local restaurant for specials put together just for the festival or classic dishes like steak, lobster, fish, and even simple chicken and waffles.
To experience the festival’s gourmet goods in full swing, plan to go to the Taste of Napa featuring a concert by Carlos Reyes on Saturday, July 21. From 11:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m., you’ll enjoy incredible eats alongside some of the area’s best wines, all while listening to the sweet music from Reyes’ harp and violin. Vocalist Tony Lindsay keeps pace with song.
Enjoying the Arts
Love the arts? Prefer to experience the local arts scene first-hand? You’ll love events like the San Francisco Ballet’s Dance Gala on Friday, July 27, or the Trefethen Family Vineyards 50th Anniversary Celebration. The first is upscale, elegant, and terrific for parents and older children alike, while the second features an exclusive performance by Havanan band Grupo Compay Segundo.
For even more artistic enjoyment, head to the Arts for All Gala at Hall St. Helena. Headlined by actress Kristin Chenoweth, this exciting event will have performances from 10 local high school students who excel at their craft. As you watch, you’ll dine on a sublime selection of gourmet foods and fine wines.
Afterwards, the Gala auctions off a number of extremely exclusive, high-value luxury lots; the proceeds go back into the community to support arts programs, scholarships for music students, and the festival’s Blackburn Music Academy, which accepts students tuition-free.
