Where to Go for Happy Hour in Napa Valley

October 14, 2019
Category: Napa Valley Information

Napa Valley makes a great getaway, especially if it’s within driving distance from your home. With so much to do and see, you’ll never be bored in beautiful wine country. But, if you’re not careful, you can quickly overspend. Between five-star restaurants, premium bottles of wine and elegant wine tours, it’s easy to run through your weekend budget.

The good news is that there are ways to save, which is especially important for people who visit Napa often. One of the best ways to stay on budget is by taking advantage of happy hour. This time usually runs from 3-6ish in the afternoons and you can get appetizers, drinks and some menu items at discounted prices.

Each restaurant is different, and menus are subject to change. But for now, here are some of the best places with a happy hour in Napa Valley.

Norman Rose Tavern

Often called “The Rose,” this local watering hole has upscale pub food in a relaxed setting. Or, grab a quick bite at the bar and take advantage of daily happy hour specials, including $6 drinks, Franks Frito sliders and hot wings. The tavern is also very good about letting you try wines before you buy. As a bonus, the tavern has a great selection of microbrews for the craft beer lovers in your group.

Basalt

Basalt has an incredible design with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a fire pit, which is great for groups. The menu features seasonal California cuisine that can be paired with one of Basalt’s signature cocktails. Happy hour runs from 5-6:30pm Monday-Thursday and 3-6pm Friday-Sunday. Stop in for discounted drinks and tasty appetizers like the Model Bakery Bread or Artisan Cheeses.

Hog Island Oyster Co.

Located in Oxbow Public Market, Hog Island Oyster Co. offers a memorable oyster experience. The seafood restaurant does not take reservations, so you can walk in and grab a bite at any time. Happy hour is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5-7pm. Highlights include beer and wine specials and chef’s choice half-priced oysters on the half shell.

Bounty Hunter Wine Bar and Smokin’ BBQ

Bounty Hunter Wine Bar and Smokin’ BBQ offers local favorites in the heart of downtown Napa. You can stop in during lunch or dinner, or for an after hours snack. There’s never a bad time to eat barbecue! Happy hour runs Monday-Friday from 3-6pm. Enjoy discounted appetizers, half-priced draft beers, $6 spirits and half-priced wines by the glass.

Tarla Mediterranean Bar and Grill

If you’re craving authentic Mediterranean food, you’ll love what Tarla Mediterranean Bar and Grill has to serve up. Some customer favorites include the Turkish meatballs, stuffed eggplant and spanakopita. Happy hour runs daily from 3-6pm, and there is no cork fee on Tuesdays. Indulge in $5 glasses of select wines and champagnes.

Whether you’re looking to save a few dollars or enjoy a few drinks and appetizers before heading out to your next excursion, be sure to check out happy hour at the many participating restaurants in Napa Valley.
