Planning a Holiday Proposal? Do it in Napa Valley!
You’ve decided to take the leap and ask the love of your life to marry you. Congratulations! Now all you have to do is create the perfect backdrop – a proposal so romantic she’ll cherish the memory for the rest of your lives together. Of course, we think you should propose right here in the Napa Valley.
When are You Going to Propose?
The first thing you need to do is pick the timeframe. Will you be visiting Napa on a day trip? Do you already live in the area and have a favorite vineyard or destination? Will you be visiting a Napa Valley hotel for a short trip before or after Christmas or the New Year? Are you proposing on Christmas Day? How about a midnight on New Year’s Eve? Your options are endless. You are going to want to choose a location that is both memorable and suits your personalities. If your fiance-to-be is a private person, you shouldn’t propose at a huge party in front of a ton of people.
Find the Perfect Location
Maybe you already have a favorite spot lined up. If it’s in a public area, like a restaurant or vineyard, make sure you call ahead to let them know of your plans. A lot of wineries and vineyards are more than willing to help you set the perfect scene and will help you make any necessary arrangements. Napa Valley proposals have happened on Howell Mountain, on the rooftop of Opus One, or during romantic meals. You might just go for a hike and propose at a scenic spot along the trail, or during a private picnic.
Private or Not?
Some people prefer an intimate, quiet moment while others prefer loud, public displays. Either way, you can still find a way to involve your closest family members and friends by arranging to have everyone out of view or waiting nearby for a celebration. This gives you the option to make the moment private, while allowing everyone to share the happy moment right after.
Consider Hiring a Photographer
Your fiance-to-be need not know the photographer is there; or that he’s there for the two of you. The photographer can simply happen to be in the area, discretely taking photos of your special moment. You’ll have the look on her face when you propose captured on film for eternity.
Remember, no matter what you plan, the most important part of the proposal is what you say. The Napa Valley has dozens of stunning, inspirational, and romantic locations where you can stage the perfect moment. What are you waiting for?
