Touted as the most creative month of the year, April is an incredible time to visit the Napa Valley. Hosted by ACNV, the Arts Council Napa Valley, the Arts in April event offers more than 80 incredible opportunities to explore some of the area’s finest installation, exhibits, live performances, and local artists.
Arts in April Events
The month-long series officially kicks off on April 7th at the Napa Velley Museum in Yountville with the Napa Valley Collects Opening Reception. This event will feature a series of rarely-seen works from some of the valley’s finest private collections. Expected artists include Manuel Neri, Don Farnsworth, and Dave Eggers.
While there are of course more than 80 events to choose from, some of the jury-selected favorites you may want to check out are listed on the Visit Napa Valley website. These include:
- Buskloose: Taking it to the Streets Photo Exhibit – all month
- Napa Community Art Mural 2.0 – April 1st
- Garden to Table: A Florist Workshop – April 3rd
- Graffiti ART at the Napa Valley Ruins & Gardens – Talk and Tour – April 10th
- Festival of Disciplines – April 16th
- Drink, Paint, Have Fun – April 23rd
As you can see, the type of art and presentation you’ll see throughout the month will vary greatly. There is something for every interest group.
Volunteering with Arts in April
The ACNV relies on the hard work of volunteers to make Arts in April a success each year. The group is looking for outreach coordinators, street team members, docents and ambassadors to guide visitors through events, and social media correspondents to help keep the community involved.
You can read about volunteer opportunities on the ACNV website. Make sure you email them before March 24th if you’re local and wish to participate so you don’t miss the volunteer orientation meeting.
