Experience the Cultural Bonanza of Festival Napa Valley
The annual ten-day extravaganza of food, music, wine, and arts, Festival Napa Valley, will be held this year from July 18–29, 2018. The iconic festival blends exceptional performances with exquisite wines and cuisine, attracting around 8,000 visitors every year.
This summer, why not get together with family and friends and head to sunny California’s favorite wine region? Soak in the spirit of Festival Napa Valley, and choose from a wide range of free and paid events.
Here is a quick rundown of what’s happening at Festival Napa Valley this year:
- Choose from a Range of Performances: Festival Napa Valley 2018 promises an impressive line-up of world-famous artists and events. Watch an extraordinary performance of the San Francisco Ballet, or discover traditional Russian folk music played with instruments such as balalaikas, button accordions and domras. Enjoy musical renditions by renowned violinist Joshua Bell, multinational cellist Sophia Bacelar, and the young Korean-Canadian clarinetist Yoonah Kim. Listen to symphonic masterpieces played by Blackburn Music Academy Orchestra. Choose from several other performances, including piano recitals, jazz concerts, and open-air operas.
- Enjoy the Food and Wine: Celebrate the legendary Trefethen Vineyard’s 50th anniversary with sensational wines and culinary offerings, followed by legendary Cuban band Grupo Compay Segundo’s music, and a late night dance party where the DJ spins non-stop, foot-tapping music. Enjoy sumptuous luncheons paired with award-winning wines at venues such as Cliff Lede Vineyards or Trinchero Family Vineyards. Head to the chic RiverHouse by Bespoke Collection in downtown Napa for a splendid riverfront luncheon.
- Make the Most of Your Time: For a hassle-free experience, try to arrive at your venue about 30 minutes prior to the event’s start time. This will allow plenty of time for parking and seating, especially at the free concerts. If you are planning to attend multiple events on the same day, set aside at least 90 – 120 minutes at each venue and another 10 – 15 minutes to get to the next venue.
- Dress in Style, But Don’t Ignore Comfort: Since several events are outdoors, remember to carry a pair of sunglasses, or a fashionable hat. For evening events, carry a light jacket or a stylish wrap, just in case the valley breeze picks up after sundown. Use footwear that is comfortable for outdoor events held ate venues with grass, gravel, or uneven terrain.
