Harvest season has already begun in Napa Valley, but that does not mean you cannot see it. The grapes destined for sparkling wines are the first to be picked, but the rest of the season, the harvest devotes itself to the luscious reds and crisp white wines you crave. Harvest season is by far the best time to visit the area, with more wineries opening their doors and plenty of activities underway.
Some fun events you can catch during harvest season include:
- Tomatoville 2015 – Build your very own BLT and enjoy a tomato tasting at this special harvest event. Located at the Bardessano Hotel in Yountville, there will be 12 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, rich olive oils and specialty salts so that you can craft the perfect BLT.
- 130th Anniversary Harvest Ball – Hosted by the V. Sattui Winery, this exquisite ball takes place in the middle of a vineyard and is paired with fine foods and V. Sattui’s award-winning wines. The event takes place September 12th and non-members pay $250 to join.
- Madrigal Family Annual Harvest Party and Grape Stomp – Have you always wanted to savor fine wines and stomp on some grapes yourself? September 12th you can join the Madrigal Family Winery during their annual harvest party and grape stomp.
- Harvest Boot Camp – Join the boot camp with the Trefethen Family Vineyards harvest crew. You will get an in-depth harvest experience and spend the morning working in the vineyard. The event takes place September 26th.
