Mustard Festival Takes a Pass This Year
Although the fragrant, robust mustard is blooming in the Napa Valley Vineyards, the traditional Mustard Festival is taking a hiatus this year. A tough economy has made it difficult for this much loved festival to take place.
Although the festival will not occur as scheduled, February continues to be one of the most exciting times to visit Napa Valley. Local artist, Jessel Miller’s Mustard Festival 2011 collector’s item poster will be available along with other fantastic giclée prints during the artist’s gallery showing. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be dedicated to resurrecting the Festival for 2012. Plan to visit the showing at the Jessel Gallery on Friday, February 25 at 7pm so you can also help bring back the Festival next year.
Additionally, Calistoga and Yountville will host their annual “Mustard, Mud and Music” event in addition to the Calistoga Jazz Festival. Both events are held in March so visit the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce and Yountville Chamber of Commerce today for more information.
In addition to festivals and events, February is the ideal time to experience the blossoming mustard on your own. This peaceful, Zen experience is the perfect way to get centered and rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit.
To compliment your days in the mustard fields, enjoy your evenings at Napa Valley Hotel and Suites. Our spacious, comfortable rooms will help you continue your retreat and provide a peaceful slumber throughout your stay.
