Eat, Drink, Stomp!

Join the Napa Valley community for one of the best, and squishiest, events of the year – the annual grape stomp. We encourage individuals, families, and teams to get down and dirty with the grape harvest. Event takes place at the Yount Mill Vineyards in Yountville. Stomp grapes with your bare feet in this lively, interactive competition where you can eat, drink, and stomp to your heart’s content.

With harvest season coming to a close, activity is transitioning from vineyard to winery. The season has gone off without a hitch and has been one of the fastest and most abundant seasons in a long time.

A Look at the 2013 Harvest Season

The past couple of months have gone something like this: grapes were fermented whole and had their juice transferred from tanks to barrels. Harvesters were harvesting so many grapes, they had to continue the juggling act throughout the season. One of the dilemmas that harvesters experienced was finding enough space to accommodate the abundant harvest season.

The 2013 harvest season has been a good one thanks to ideal temperatures, abundant sunshine and cool breezes, as well as little rain to compromise the thin-skinned varieties of grapes. As fall rolls around Napa Valley, the valley explodes with harvest festivals and the annual grape stomp activities. For over 150 years, the Napa Valley has been a center of grape harvest activities. Every year, vineyards around the valley celebrate the harvest season with special events like these:

  • Grape Stomp at Bourassa Vineyards – with a roast pig feast, local musicians, and the opportunity to turn your feet purple, join the Bourassa family in their annual grape stomp. Per person price is $80 ($40 for members and you can bring 2 guests at the wine club price).
