When visiting Napa Valley for a spring getaway, you must remember the four S’s. What are the four S’s you ask? Well, it’s the best way to DO Napa!
The city of Napa is located at the southern tip of Napa Valley. It has become a place synonymous with wineries and wine tastings. Many visitors start their travels here because they can enjoy an intimate experience at tasting bars like Carpe Diem and Back Room Wines. There are also some larger wineries to explore if you choose, such as Domaine Carneros. Whichever type of wine tasting you choose, Napa has endless selections of the finest red and white wines.
Sipping on wine all day is made even more fun when there’s food involved. Leave it up to Napa to offer delicious culinary dishes made with locally grown ingredients. Seasonal menus keep each restaurant unique and fresh, and visitors love the fact that each restaurant has its own theme. If you ate at every Napa restaurant (which we don’t recommend all in one day!), you’ll get a taste of Mediterranean, Italian and everything in between. Homemade pizza, artisan foods and freshly caught fish are some of the local favorites.
When you’re full on wine and food, take a stroll through the lovely streets of Napa. The downtown area is a wonderful place to take a leisurely walk with friends and family and explore the scenic River Walk. Other favorites include the Opera House that hosts all types of musical concerts, including jazz, blues, contemporary and theater plays. The River Trail, Skyline Park and Bay Area Ridge Trail are great places to be one with nature. Art buffs will appreciate Di Rosa’s sculpture gardens and art galleries.
There are several top-notch places to stay in Napa, but our favorite pick is Napa Valley Hotel and Suites. Located downtown, the hotel is closely located to everything in Napa. Guests feel like royalty with the large rooms, king/queen beds, Swedish massage showers and imported ceramic tiles. There is fresh coffee and tea in each of the rooms, as well as stunning views of the California landscape. With high-speed internet access, a large work desk and phone service, you can work and play at Napa Valley Hotel and Suites.
