The Napa Valley isn’t just for wine lovers. It’s for families of all shapes and sizes and no time of year is as magical as the holiday season. Pack your kids in the car and enjoy exploring all the area has to offer during this mystical time of year.
Ice Skating in Downtown Napa
Head towards downtown Napa, to the intersection of Coombs and Second streets, and be prepared for a fun family ice skating experience. Admission is $12 per person and includes skates. The rink is open from 2pm through 10pm Monday through Friday, noon to 12pm through 10pm on Saturday, and 12pm through 8pm on Sunday. On the days kids are off of school, the rink will open at noon. The rink will remain open through January 11th.
Elf at the St. Helena Public Library
Head on over to the St. Helena Public Library on Wednesday, December 17th at 3pm for a kids matinee showing of the hit holiday movie “Elf.” Admission is completely free.
The Santa Train at the Napa Valley Wine Train
The Napa Valley Wine Train is a great experience for adults, but from December 15th through 18th you can take the kids to ride the Santa Express Train with St. Nick and some of his friends. Tickets are $25.
Can’t make it to the Santa Express Train? No problem. Santa will be at V Marketplace on Saturdays and Sundays between December 6th and December 21st. He’ll be there from 11am until 3pm each day. It’s a free event and you’ll need to bring your own camera for pictures. Pets are welcome, too!
Enjoy this timeless holiday tradition on December 20th or 21st at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater. There is a 2pm and a 7pm show on the 20th, followed by a 2pm show on the 21st. Tickets generally range from $25 to $35.
Connolly Ranch Winter Camps
These camps are geared towards children ages 3 to 5 and aim to offer children the experience to work within the outdoors. They’ll get to feed farm animals, do craft projects, and play in the garden. There’s also snack time, story time, and open play space. Camps are held from December 22nd through the 24th and again from December 29th through the 31st.
The Napa Valley Resolution 5K/10K
Families that love to run together will enjoy the 2nd annual run through Yountville. The race is hosted by Athletic Feat and the proceeds benefit the Napa Vine Trail. The race starts at 10am on January 1st, 2015. Register as a family of 4 or more to receive discounts on the cost.
