The best time to come to Napa Valley is at the end of summer as the temperatures start to cool and the harvest season begins. You will also find less tourists as families head back home in time for the new school year. Harvest events spring up just about everywhere in wine country starting mid-August and early September, and if you want to truly experience Napa, a harvest event is the place to be.
Some of the exciting harvest events kicking off the season include:
- The Annual V Sattui Winery Harvest Ball – Each year, the V Sattui Winery hosts their annual harvest ball. This year, the ball takes place on September 17, 2016 and it is a grand event. You not only get to taste great wine, but also celebrate with fine Italian cuisine, dancing, champagne and a six-course banquet. Tickets cost $225 per person if you are a member of the winery or $250 per person without a membership.
- Ehlers Estate Harvest Party – Ehlers Estate offers their harvest party to members only and tickets are $75 per person. This year, the party will be hosted on September 24th.
- Calistoga Harvest Table – The annual Calistoga Harvest Table is another unique harvest event to attend. This year, the event takes place on September 11th under the harvest moon. There will be 14 restaurants and 30 wineries offering up their fare and 1,000 feet of tables set up in the downtown area for a grand celebration. Prices for tickets vary, depending on where you would like to be seated, and range from $65 to as much as $150 per person.
