This year marks twenty years of the UC Master Gardeners of Napa Valley serving Napa County. That said, we’re sure this year’s Garden Tour will be something spectacular to behold. It doesn’t matter if you’re an amateur or professional gardener. You’re going to love this experience.
When, Where, and What?
While the US Master Gardeners of Napa County are celebrating a big milestone, the garden tour itself is relatively young, entering its 6th year. The tour will be held on Saturday, September 13th, 2015 from 9:00am until 3:00pm.
On the tour you’ll have the opportunity to visit the gardens of seven Master Gardeners from throughout the City of Napa. You’ll see a variety of both small and large gardens, all of which incorporate “University of California research-based horticultural information” in their development and maintenance. Some features you’ll see include incredibly creative landscapes, the use of low-water, plantings designed to attract wildlife, home food gardens, and some of the most relaxing living spaces you’ve seen in a long time.
Of course, each garden will feature Master Garener docents and educational materials. You’ll get to browse, ask questions, and hopefully walk away feeling inspired about what you might be able to do with your own home gardens.
The tour itself is self-guided, meaning you’re responsible for getting yourself to each location. Tickets are $30 if you purchase them in advance or $35 if you purchase them the day of the event. You can buy them online or at the UCCE office at 1710 Soscol Avenue, Suite 4, in Napa. Tickets may be purchased via cash or check. Call 707-253-4143 for additional details.
